Abaya size guide

Choosing your abaya length

Most abayas are sized by length rather than by dress size, because the cut is loose and flowing. Getting the length right is the key to a graceful look.

How to measure

  1. Stand straight, wearing the shoes you usually wear with your abaya.
  2. Ask someone to measure from the top of your shoulder, beside your neck, straight down to where you want the hem to fall.
  3. Most women like the hem to sit just above the floor so it flows without dragging.
  4. Note the measurement in inches.

Picking from our lengths

Our starter styles are listed in lengths such as 52, 54, 56, 58 and 60. These numbers refer to the length of the abaya in inches. Choose the length closest to your measurement. If you fall between two lengths, the longer one is often the safer choice if you wear heels, and the shorter one if you prefer flat shoes.

A few gentle tips

  • Butterfly and kimono styles are very roomy, so length matters more than width.
  • Belted styles can be worn with or without the belt for a looser or more defined fit.
  • Check each product page for the lengths available in that style.
